Android 6.0.1 by Google rolled out with Nexus Devices
Android 6.0.1: Google has started to roll out its Android 6.0 Marshmallow two months back. However, as high as 99% of currently active devices are still running the older version of operating system forcing the company to push newer updates! Officially Google has started seeding the Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates through its Nexus device range. The supporting devices list includes the name Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 5, Nexus 9, Nexus 7 (2013), and the Nexus Player. While the tech giant has not announced officially, it has put on a tweet mentioning that they are celebrating new emoji’s. And what else could be a better sign for a new update!
If we delve deeper into the details of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, then the primary focus of the company will be new emoji’s, December security updates and an updated keyboard. The new emoji’s about which the entire Android world was clueless about till now will now be able to decode them. Now the users will be able to see the emoji’s hidden behind those x marks of your chat fields. The latest Android version i.e. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will add Unicode 7.0 and 8.0 emoji’s.
The second new update will be a new version for Google Keyboard that will host two to three new tabs. These tabs will host almost all the new emojis that come build with Unicode 7.0 and 8.0 and is touted to include food, sports, and other interesting domains.
We will also get to see the new regimented Google Android Security Update which will include a large number of fixes against a long list of critical bugs. The Nexus Security Bulletin page has marked the as 4 critical fixes, 10 high-level fixes, 2 moderate fixes, that purely depends on whether you are a non Nexus or Nexus device user.
Despite three updates in an upcoming update, the new Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is not a big deal and doesn’t come with major changes. In case, you are pestering on some non Nexus Smartphone manufacturer to push out on the latest update, it will take longer time for you to speed up the things as your current Lollipop Android version still falls two updates behind.
While the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is minor one and will not even take an hour, yet it is interesting and to note that minor details matter a lot for the Android users. This one will work great for those who have iOS friends as you can now throw emojis at them which earlier were not understood. Google has also posted that its partner were informed about the upcoming security update 2 months earlier and also that the source code patch will be available on the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) repository within a span of next 2 days.
